Engineering Technician 1 - Music City Center

Engineering Technician I - Music City Center
 
Responsibilities include:  Event utility installations and dismantling.  Responsible for daily building maintenance and repair including working knowledge of electrical and general facility maintenance.  Strong diagnostic skills will be required to include blueprint reading and close attention to safety regulations.   

High School Diploma or GED required with Vocational or Technical School preferred with one (1) to three (3) years of experience in general maintenance with specific knowledge in carpentry and painting required with drywall and masonry skills preferred or any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to these requirements.     

This is a position of the Convention Center Authority; not a Metropolitan Government position.  Excellent benefits included.  Valid Tennessee Driver’s License required.  Flexible work schedules and will include weekend, night, and holiday work with the ability to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Starting Rate:  $19.00/hour

Security and Parking Officer 2 (starting pay $18.50/hr) - Music City Center

This position is primarily responsible for the administration of safety, security, and parking for Music City Center customers and staff including monitoring multiple camera systems, alarm and building systems, and screening for activity on entry and exit of guests, visitors, contract staff, and team members.   Position is also responsible for routine walkthroughs of exhibit halls to verify life safety and interior/exterior of the facility to observe, document and respond to activity. 

High School diploma with one (1) year of experience and/or State of Tennessee license, and previous security experience preferred or any equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.  Hospitality industry experience preferred. 

This is a position of the Convention Center Authority; not a Metropolitan Government position.  Excellent benefits included.  Valid Driver’s License required.  Flexible work schedule and will require the ability to work weekends, nights, and holidays required.

Starting rate:  $18.50/hr

Housekeeping Staff (starting pay $15/hr) - Music City Center

Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of all public and back of house areas including offices, public space, terraces, building exterior perimeter, which includes sweeping, mopping, washing walls and windows, cleaning restrooms, emptying trash containers, etc.  Must be able to work without direct supervision and act as lead in the absence of supervisor.  Must be familiar with housekeeping equipment including floor machines and carpet cleaners.  Assist in direction of temporary labor and able to work independently when needed. Able to work irregular hours to include overnight shifts, weekends and holidays.  Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time.

High School Diploma or GED preferred with 6 months to 1 year of experience in cleaning commercial buildings or any combination of education and experience meeting these requirements. 

Flexible schedule and ability to work weekends required.  All shifts available. This is a position of the Convention Center Authority; not a Metropolitan Government position. Salary:  $15.00/hour.  Excellent Benefits included.  Parking provided.

Set Up Staff (starting pay $16/hr) - Music City Center

Set-Up Staff - Music City Center

Responsibilities include:  set-up/dismantling of convention space; general maintenance labor in connection to building maintenance, including sweeping, mopping, washing walls and windows, cleaning restrooms, emptying trash containers, etc. This includes considerable physical activity in transporting awkward and heavy materials such as staging, tables, chairs, dance floors, etc., from storage areas to meeting rooms. Ability to understand conversion task, project sheets and event documents on a daily basis to ensure that all requirements are clear and the expectation of the set up is understood before work begins. Assist in direction of temporary labor and able to work independently when needed. Able to work irregular hours to include overnight shifts, weekends and holidays.  Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time.

High School Diploma or GED preferred plus one (1) to three (3) years of semi-skilled laboring experience is required.  Knowledge of the techniques and procedures used in setting public events; ability to operate motorized equipment, such as a forklift; and ability to analyze set-up plans and make modifications. 

Employment contingent on background check and substance abuse screenings.

Flexible schedule and ability to work weekends required.  All shifts available. This is a position of the Convention Center Authority; not a Metropolitan Government position. Salary:  $16.00/hour.  Excellent Benefits included.  Parking provided.

•             Event utility installations and dismantling. 

•             Daily building maintenance and repair including working knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, Building Automation Systems, building systems to include lighting controls and operation, blueprint interpretation, and general facility maintenance.

•             Ability to complete assignments that will include 3 phase applications up to 480 VAC.

Vocational or Technical School is required with three (3) to five (5) years of experience, five (5) years preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.  Must have experience in general maintenance with specific knowledge of electrical and HVAC systems in an industrial/commercial environment. 

This is a position of the Convention Center Authority; not a Metropolitan Government position.  Excellent benefits included.  Valid Driver’s License required.  Schedules are rotating and will require weekend and night work. 

Starting Rate: $22.00/hour

NOTE:  Substance Abuse and Background checks will be conducted for all positions.
