CONVENTION CENTER AUTHORITY ANNOUNCES NEW MEMBER

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Convention Center Authority announced the appointment of a new member, Randy Goodman. Goodman was appointed by Mayor Karl Dean and confirmed by Metro Council last night.
Goodman is a 30-year veteran of the Nashville music industry. He began his career in 1981 with RCA Records as a publicist and over the next 16 years rose to EVP/GM of the RCA Label Group. Goodman left the RCA Label Group in 1997 for the Walt Disney Company and launched Lyric Street Records. Currently Goodman is a manager with Maverick (formerly Spalding Entertainment) working with his former Lyric label act, Rascal Flatts, and a new artist, Seth Alley. Goodman has co-chaired Mayor Dean's Music City Music Council for the past 3 years while serving as a consultant for various Nashville-based entertainment businesses. Goodman is also a former CMA Board Chairman and a current board member for the Country Music Hall of Fame.

The Music City Center, Nashville’s convention center, features a 353,143 square foot exhibit hall, the 57,500 square foot Karl F. Dean Grand Ballroom, and an 18,000 square foot Davidson Ballroom. The building includes an art collection featuring local and regional artists, a covered three-level parking garage with 1,800 spaces, and is LEED Gold certified. The Nashville Songwriter’s Hall of Fame is also located inside the Music City Center at the corner of 6th Avenue and Demonbreun.
