NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Music City Center President and Chief Executive Officer Charles Starks has appointed Ernest Jackson as the Director of Facilities for the 2.1 million square foot convention center.
Jackson is from Jackson, Tennessee, and studied at the University of Tennessee at Martin. He began his career in facilities management in Anchorage, AK, where he served as Operations Director of SMG of Alaska, Inc. for 23 years. Having joined the MCC team as a Set Up Manager in 2013, prior to the building’s grand opening, he is considered a member of the center’s Founders Club. He is also a graduate of the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) Venue Management School (VMS).
As the Facilities Director, Jackson will oversee set-up and housekeeping operations in all areas of the building including exhibit halls, meeting rooms, lobbies, restrooms, corridors, elevators, offices, and storage. He will also be responsible for inventory. His direct reports will include the managers of Set Up and Housekeeping.
“This is an incredibly well-deserved promotion,” Starks said. “Ernest has been here since the beginning, and he has more than proven himself. I look forward to his contribution to our leadership team.”
“I am blessed and very excited about this new opportunity,” said Jackson. “With 11 years under my belt, I plan to bring a new dynamic and scenery to the role and team. My door is always open.”
