MUSIC CITY CENTER ON TRACK FOR A RECORD-BREAKING FISCAL YEAR 2015
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 22, 2015
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Charles Starks, President/CEO of the Music City Center, announced today that the building has generated over $93 million in economic impact during the first half of fiscal year 2015.
The Music City Center has hosted 171 events with 234,799 attendees so far during fiscal year 2015. These events generated 126,698 room nights for a total of $93.2 million in economic impact. This is almost double the economic impact generated during the first six months of fiscal year 2014. Tax collections continue to outperform projections and the Music City Center portion of tax collections was up 46.77 percent year over year for October 2014 and 33.77 percent year over year for November 2014.
"To think that we have doubled our economic impact numbers year over year during our second fiscal year of operation is pretty incredible," said Starks. "I feel very confident that we will keep this momentum going. Our customers have loved being in Nashville and many have already rebooked with us for future years."
The Music City Center is hosting the annual Mary Kay Inc. Leadership Conference this week, an event that has brought almost 10,000 visitors to downtown Nashville.
